Riley Family Duck Pond
UPDATE - MARCH 25: The Riley Family Duck Pond is now closed for skating
The Riley Family Duck Pond in Assiniboine Park provides a unique venue for family fun. Skating is a favourite winter activity made more enjoyable in the outdoor setting of the Park. The Duck Pond shelter provides a heated venue to warm up as well as a facility to change into your skates. After skating, take time to visit The Park Café located at the end of the Duck Pond for a snack, hot beverage or to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace seating area.

Come to Assiniboine Park to experience our groomed cross-country ski trails. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch for wildlife as you ski past the Lyric Theatre and Formal Gardens. At the end of your ski, ski back to the Duck Pond shelter to warm-up or enjoy an après-ski hot chocolate or lunch at The Park Café.

Admission is Free
Open 8:00 am to 10:00 pm
During the winter, the trails are typically groomed twice a week as weather permits. We do not groom the trails if it is snowing and will commence grooming when the snowfall stops.
Toboggan Hill
The Toboggan Hill is open. Conditions vary depending on the weather and amount of snowfall.
Located near the Duck Pond on the north side of the Nature Playground, the Toboggan Hill has become a favourite attraction for the young and the young at heart! The main hill offers exciting thrills and spills for those who love the feel of wind (and snow) in their face.
Lyric Theatre
The Lyric Theatre carries on the tradition of summer bandshell entertainment in the Park. The large outdoor stage features performances for every taste and age, including Ballet in the Park, the symphony, and the Opera and Jazz festivals. The Lyric Theatre is a fitting home for quality, family entertainment, all provided free of charge.
Bike Rentals
Come rent a single, tandem, or other unique pedal-powered novelty bikes from Bee2gether Bikes located on Assiniboine Park Drive the duck pond and the Assiniboine Park foot bridge (look for the yellow and black Boler camper). Personal bicycle tours are also available.

Citizens Hall of Fame
As the first of its kind, the Citizens Hall of Fame is a permanent monument to the pursuit and attainment of individual excellence and achievement on behalf of one's community. It is a tourist attraction, repository of local history, a source of education to the Winnipeg community, and lastly, a vehicle for displaying talents of local artists. The Citizens Hall of Fame is located in the south east corner of Assiniboine Park near the Formal Gardens.
