The Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) is pleased to announce a gift of $1 million from Richard Morantz and Sheree Walder Morantz and Family towards the Imagine a Place Campaign. The Assiniboine Park Zoo is excited to announce that three year old male polar bear, Storm, will be ready to meet the public at the Zoo starting this Saturday, November 30. Assiniboine Park Zoo Announces Name for Female Polar Bear Cub

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is happy to announce that the approximately 11 month old female polar bear cub that arrived at the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre (IPBCC) from Churchill on November 19 has been named. The cub will be called Kaska, a name derived from the Kaskatamagan Wildlife Management Area, which lies within the traditional territory of Shamattawa First Nation, and within the York Factory First Nation Resource Management Area.Read full release...

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is pleased to report that an approximately 11 month old female polar bear cub from Churchill, MB has safely arrived in Winnipeg and is now at the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre (IPBCC). The new cub joins Hudson (two year old male), Storm (three year-old male) and Aurora (11 month old female) as the fourth polar bear to make her temporary home at the IPBCC.Read full release...
