CITIZENS HALL OF FAME As the first of its kind, the Citizens Hall of Fame is a permanent momento to the pursuit and attainment of individual excellence and achievement on behalf of one's community. It is a tourist attraction, repository of local history, a source of education to the Winnipeg community, and lastly, a vehicle for displaying talents of local artists. The Citizens Hall of Fame is located in the south east corner of Assiniboine Park near the Formal Gardens. The miniature steam train is located outside the Zoo on the south side of the main Zoo parking lot. The steam train runs daily from noon to 6:00 pm, (weather permitting), from May long weekend to September long weekend. Cost is $2.50 per person. Call 831-0197 or 897-3970 for more information. Pony rides run Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm, weather permitting, and are located across from the Alpaca enclosure in the Assiniboine Park Zoo. Pony rides are $3.00 each and adults must accompany children under 5 years of age and under. For information on booking private pony ride parties, call 757-2645. Come rent a single, tandem, or other unique pedal-powered novelty bikes from Bee2gether Bikes located on Assiniboine Park Drive the duck pond and the Assiniboine Park foot bridge (look for the yellow and black Boler camper).
