ART IN THE PARK: Totems - Life in British Columbia

Location(s): John P. Crabb Gallery (Pavilion Gallery Museum)

Walter J. Phillips’ first visit to the west coast was in 1927 and he eventually moved there in 1960. He went on many visits to villages such as Karlukwees, Village Island, and Mamallilicoola. It is there he produced “Ten Canadian Colour Prints”.


ART IN THE PARK: Through the Eye of the Figure

In his Figurescapes, Ivan Eyre began opening up "table-top" still lives by cutting an opening to view the landscape beyond.

ART IN THE PARK: Northern Impressions Art Show & Sale

Inspired by the opening of the Journey to Churchill exhibit at Assiniboine Park Zoo, this exciting exhibition features a selection of prints and sculpture inspired by the natural wonders of Canada's north.


Summer Music Series at the Lyric Theatre

The Summer Entertainment Series is offered free to the public and made possible through sponsorship support and supplementary fundraising. This year’s schedule features more than 30 events including musical acts at the Lyric Theatre, jazz in the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, art exhibits in the Pavilion Gallery Museum, and returning for its fourth season – Movies in the Park.

Jazz in the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden

Escape the noise and heat of the concrete jungle and enjoy the very best of jazz in Winnipeg surrounded by blooming flowers, flowing fountains, and beautiful works of art.

Location(s): Drop-off/pick-up location is at the white Events Tent located at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory (15 Conservatory Drive)

We offer exciting week-long programs that provide educational and experiential activities for children in grades 1 to 6. Each week, they will spend three days going wild at the Zoo and two days exploring the gardens, trails, forests, and art in Assiniboine Park. Participants will enjoy themed activities and explore the venues within Assiniboine Park including the Nature Playground, Park gardens, Pavilion Gallery Museum, Conservatory and Zoo!  Click here for more information.


Movies in the Park

Join us on the Lyric Lawn for free family entertainment. We'll be screening your favourite summer blockbusters on a cinema-style outdoor screen. You bring the chair and blanket; we supply the fun!

Journey to Churchill Zoo Caching Event

Location(s): Assiniboine Park Zoo

12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Hosted by Skoki and friends at Beaverlodge School, the Assiniboine Park Zoo and the Manitoba Geocaching Association, this event will begin with an introduction to the GPS and geocaching. GPS units will be available for those who don't have one and would like to find out more about this fun and addictive family friendly activity. Several new caches will be unveiled and made available for finding throughout the Zoo area for this event.
