Workshops & Classes

Assiniboine Park is a beautiful, natural location with an abundance of high-quality facilities that allow us to offer a variety of classes and workshops for people of all interests. Browse our selection here and register today!


Pre-School

Nature TotsNature Tots - Little Green Thumbs
(For children ages 3 to 5 with an adult partner)

Join us at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory for 8 weeks of songs, crafts, snacks and loads of fun nature exploration! Themes include T is for Tree, S is for Seeds, C is for Cactus, D is for Dirt, F is for Flower, R is for Rocks, and others.

  • Dates: Wednesdays from March 5 to April 30 (no class April 2)

Veggie Container Gardening for Children (ages 6 and up)

Vegetables are amongst the easiest plants for children to grow and great fun to harvest, prepare, and eat. Learn to create colourful, whimsical containers that overflow with peppers, eggplants, radishes, tomatoes and more. (Materials included)

Foodie Series

Foody Series

Enjoy food samplings prepared by local chefs sprinkled with horticultural, historical and cultural tidbits. All of this is topped off with expert pairings from the Manitoba Liquor Marts. You will be consuming alcoholic beverage samples, so we strongly suggest that you arrange a ride to and from these events.

Participants must be 18 years or older to attend.

Bring your noshing, nibbling and relaxing skills to an art form during this presentation on Spanish appetizers. Learn what ingredients go into the preparing some of the best finger foods around and what libations are best suited to enhance each creation.

Health & Fitness Classes

Get fit and have fun at beautiful Assiniboine Park.

Fit 4 Two Stroller Fitness is a mobile way for you to get a full body work out and still be able to attend to your baby’s needs. Each outdoor class includes intervals of power walking, functional strength training and cardio drills followed by postnatal-specific core work and flexibility. Our mobile intervals are ideal for babies who like to be on the move. Come out and meet other moms in your community!

Women should be 4+ weeks postpartum (6 weeks for caesareans). All fitness levels are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. You do not need a jogging stroller. For safety reasons, mobile babies & tots should remain in their strollers/carriers/mom's arms until core work.
