Children

Nature TotsNature Tots

This  interactive program is designed for children ages 3 to 5 with an adult partner. We provide the snacks, loads of fun activities, awesome venues, and the fun!

Children explore nature at the Conservatory together through fun plant-based activities and hands-on investigations during the most magical season that is winter. Snacks provided.

  • Dates: Wednesdays, March 4 through March 25
  • Time: 9:30 to 11:00 am
  • Location: Assiniboine Park Conservatory

Fee: $59 + GST for members | $66 + GST for non-members

Children explore nature together through fun animal-themed activities and hands-on investigations. Snacks provided.

Discover Manitoba's Mushrooms
Wednesday, January 21 | 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm | Assiniboine Park Conservatory

Shaggy manes, morels, giant puff balls, honey mushrooms and more. Join us as we explore what's fun about Manitoba's fungi with instruction from Nature Manitoba.

Winter Birds

Learn to identify various species, make your own seed mix, and how to attract birds.p>

Paper Marbling with Janet Carroll
Sunday, March 7 | 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm | Qualico Family Centre

Learn the basics of this fascinating craft and make several unique prints by the end of the afternoon. Wear a smock or apron as marbling can be messy!p>

Perennial Garden Design

Baptisia? Bergenia? Brunnera? beds ‘n borders – terms that just may cause horticultural bedlam. With the plethora of choices available for the perennial border, this course will help you make informed decisions about the best plant choices for your garden.

Are you itching to get your hands into the soil? Is it time for a change at your front door? Join our instructor as she helps you create a fresh new arrangement for early spring. There will be a sleection of forced bulbs available as well as an insert pot and planting medium.
