Assiniboine Park is open twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.
There are no admission fees for Assiniboine Park, the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, or the Pavilion Gallery Museum.
With more than 300 acres of greenspace, gardens, and attractions from A to Zoo, there’s no shortage of volunteer opportunities at Assiniboine Park. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and work hand in hand with staff to preserve, protect and enrich the Park’s cherished character.

It is our goal to provide volunteers with enriching and rewarding volunteer experiences. We aim to place our volunteers in positions that offer the best match for your unique skill set and schedule. Every volunteer starts off as a Goodwill Ambassador, before moving on to more specialized position.

If you are are a student, 16 years of age or older, and you're looking for a great volunteer opportunity, look no further. Volunteers are needed to conduct brief visitor surveys this summer at Assiniboine Park and Zoo. Earn 20, 30, 40 or more volunteer hours!

Information for Agencies with Special Needs Clients
Assiniboine Park Conservancy strives to ensure that our volunteers are representative of the community in which we serve. Volunteers from all ages, backgrounds and walks of life are welcome to the program. We believe that volunteers with intellectual and behavioural disabilities can be productive and welcome additions to our program, but do require that the volunteer and his or her support person meet the following requirements. Agencies looking to place clients with disabilities that may affect their ability to perform the duties outlined in the position description for roles within Assiniboine Park and Zoo should review the following information before completing the online application process:
Please note that the volunteer process includes a screening interview and not all volunteers who apply will be accepted into the program.
The screening procedure for volunteers includes completion of an application form, an interview and reference checks, and an orientation.
