Every year, a variety of fundraising walks, runs, and special events are hosted in the Park by not-for-profit and community organizations.

For safety reasons, some of these events require temporary road or pathway closures. Requirements vary depending on the type of event and the needs of the client. Closures are typically short in duration and limited to a couple of streets on the run route, so Park visitors can take alternative routes to reach their destination. Please be patient and kind to the staff, volunteers, and runners using the roadways to keep everyone safe.

The following list of upcoming events will be updated regularly from spring to fall.

All listed road closures are approved by the City of Winnipeg.

Superhero Run to Fight DIPG 2026 | September 5

• Westbound Pavilion Crescent, starting at the intersection of Diversity Drive, will be closed from 7:45 am - 10:00 am.
• Westbound Zoo Drive, starting at the intersection of Diversity Drive, will be closed from 7:45 am - 10:00 am.
• Nature Playground parking lot will be closed from 6:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Run for Palestine | September 20

• Diversity Drive from The Leaf Way to Pavilion Crescent will be closed from 8:45 am - 10:00 am.
• The intersection of Pavilion Crescent and Diversity Drive will be closed from 8:50 am - 9:20 am.
• Nature Playground parking lot will be closed from 6:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Reasons to Run | September 26

• Westbound Pavilion Crescent, starting at the intersection of Diversity Drive, will be closed from 8:55 am - 12:00 pm.
• Westbound Zoo Drive, starting at the intersection of Diversity Drive, will be closed from 8:55 am - 12:00 pm.
• Nature Playground parking lot will be closed from 6:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Teddy Bear's Picnic | September 27

• Assiniboine Park Drive, between Pavilion Crescent and the Portage Avenue footbridge, will be closed from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. Public parking will be removed starting Friday, September 25.

CIBC Run | October 4

• Assiniboine Park Drive around the Lyric Field will be closed from 9:20 am - 11:20 am.
• Westbound Assiniboine Park Drive to Wellington Avenue will be closed from 9:20 am - 11:20 am.
