International Polar Bear Day

International Polar Bear Day is a day of awareness focused on the challenges polar bears face in a warming Arctic and how we can help. This year, we are honouring International Polar Bear Day at the Zoo and virtually on February 27 and February 28.

Enrichment at the Zoo

Watch our polar bears and other Arctic animals including muskox, arctic foxes, and reindeer enjoy special enrichment.

Date: Saturday, February 27 & Sunday, February 28
Time: Enrichment will be given to the animals at about 10:00 am.

Some animals will enjoy their enrichment right away and it'll be gone in a flash, while others will savour it all day!

Virtual Family Camp

This virtual family camp will combine some of the best things we do at the Zoo! We'll learn about polar bears and sea ice and enjoy fun activities and lessons involving glitter, poop, and baking! This camp is being offered for FREE thanks to the Safe at Home MB grant. Register early as space is limited!

Date: Saturday, February 27 or Sunday, February 28
Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Yoga with the Bears

Join Animal Care Supervisor/Yoga Instructor Jackie Enberg live from the Assiniboine Park Zoo’s Journey to Churchill exhibit for a virtual Yoga with the Bears class on International Polar Bear Day. Class will take place over Zoom on February 27 at 8:00 am. Registration is free. Click here for more information and to register.

Support polar bears with Polar Ice Vodka

We are pleased to once again be partnering with Polar Ice Vodka to raise awareness and funds in support of polar bears. With every bottle of Polar Ice Vodka sold (750ml & 1750ml) in the month of February, $1 will be donated to the Polar Bear Rescue and Care Team.
