Location:

Are those berries edible? If I were hungry enough, could I eat tree bark? If I break a shoelace, what plant could help me tie my shoe?

Join Barret Miller, Manager of Education and Programming at Assiniboine Park, as he walks you through the Park's forests and shares helpful insights and education after a lifetime of nibbling on wild plants.

Participants will also learn more about foraging ethics, safety, cooking tips, and ideas for conserving urban wild space. When nature offers a trail treat, we will share samples.

Each walk will be a self-contained, stand-alone experience; however, coming to one or more walks a month will let you see different plants go through their growing cycles, offering different tastes.

About the Facilitator
Since 2011, Barrett has been connecting people to nature through their taste buds. His edible plant programming has been featured by CTV and Global TV Winnipeg, The Winnipeg Free Press, and Maclean's Magazine.

The workshop is recommended for those 6 years and older; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
