Enjoy FREE wellness classes at the Lyric Theatre Wednesday evenings in August!

Experienced instructors will guide you through each class, no experience necessary. This is a wonderful opportunity to try something new in the comfort of the Park!

August 3: Yoga with My Body Winnipeg

Loveeza Arshad will lead a beginner yoga class for all flexibilities and ages. Comfortable clothing and a yoga mat or towel are recommended.

Loveeza Arshad is a Certified Yoga teacher (RYT 200), sharing the relationship between breath, body, and consciousness to curious humans. Offering the opportunity to create shifts, embrace self-compassion, and find a path toward meaningful, purposeful lives through meditation in stillness or in motion.

August 10: Guided Mindfulness Meditation with Michael Yellow Bird

Dr. Michael Yellow Bird will start by explaining the benefits of meditation, rooted in neurodecolonization and Indigenous approach to healing and mindfulness. Come as you are or in comfortable clothing, and bring a yoga mat, towel, or lawn chair. Dr. Yellow Bird will be leading the class using a hand drum, rattle, and vocally which includes both standing and seated methods of meditation.

August 17: Mobility with My Body Winnipeg

Mobility is a deep stretching class, accessible to all, to help with flexibility, joint and muscle mobility, and elasticity, as well as reduce overall stress physically and mentally. Comfortable clothing and a yoga mat or a towel are recommend.

August 24: Tai Chi with Master Shao and guests Mu-Dan Dance Group & Guo Se Tian Xiang

Tai Chi uses gentle flowing movements to reduce the stress of today's busy lifestyles and improve health and is suitable for people of all ages. All that is needed to practice is comfortable clothing and footwear.

Before coming to Canada in 2003, Master Shao Lei was well known and highly respected as a Tai Chi champion, a first-class judge, and a first-class coach. With decades of learning, practicing, and teaching martial arts, Master Shao has a vast knowledge of Tai Chi Chuan and other Chinese Martial Arts. He is not only highly skilled in his arts but also very knowledgeable in the principles of health maintenance and preservation. Master Shao is very happy to teach his arts to all interested students.
