Outdoor Spaces at Assiniboine Park

A variety of athletic fields are located throughout Assiniboine Park. See the field map. 

2024 Rental Rates:

• 8 Multipurpose Fields - $115.00 + GST
• 3 Cricket Pitches - Not available*
• 2 Soccer Fields - $115.00 + GST

To reserve an athletic field, please begin by completing our online athletic field rental application form.

*2024 Cricket Field Upgrade: Princess Auto Cricket Field will undergo upgrades to meet the professional standards which will continue to make it a sought-after location to host local, regional, provincial, national, and international tournaments in partnership with the Manitoba Cricket Association. During these upgrades, the cricket field will not be available for use or rent. The upgrades were made possible with support from the Province of Manitoba (Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Fund), City of Winnipeg, Princess Auto, and Mondetta Canada Inc.

The iconic Lyric Theatre and surrounding field is available to rent for half or full-day events. 

2024 Rental Rates:

• Half Day (under 6 hours): $1,300.00 + GST
• Full Day (over 6 hours): $2,300.00 + GST

Rental rates include set up and tear down and up to 10 garbage and recycle bins

Lyric Theatre & Field Rental Terms:

• Field set up with tents over 900 square feet require a special events permit from the City of Winnipeg.
• Evening bookings (after 4:30 pm), require a minimum of one security personnel to be arranged.
• Each group is responsible for obtaining their own noise permit through the City of Winnipeg Police Service.
• The consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is not permitted.
• The operation of irregular vehicles on roadways within the Park is not permitted.
• Assiniboine Park Conservancy’s signage at the Lyric Theatre can NOT be covered during your event.

The Performance Garden is located in the outdoor Gardens at The Leaf. Please explore the gardens. 

2024 Rental Rate: $1,300 + GST for up to 2-4 hours

Capacity: 200

Performance Garden Rental Terms:

• Rental includes the use of PA system (mic, stand, speakers). Sound tech or additional equipment available at an additional cost.
• No additional chairs or tables available. Garden includes amphitheatre style seating.
• Evening bookings (after 4:30 pm), may require a minimum of one security personnel to be arranged.
• The consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is not permitted.
• Each group is responsible for obtaining their own noise permit through the City of Winnipeg Police Service.
• No rain back location available.

The Indigenous Peoples Garden is located in the outdoor Gardens at The Leaf. Please explore the gardens. Bookings for traditional ceremonies, sacred fires, workshops, and educational programming will be considered. Additional use may require consultation.

2024 Rental Rates:

• Fire Node: $500 + GST for 4 hours
• Water Node: $500 + GST for 4 hours

Capacity: 50 per node

Indigenous Peoples Garden Rental Terms:

• Picking of gardens is not encouraged.
• The consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is not permitted.
• Evening bookings (after 8:00 pm), may require a minimum of one security personnel to be arranged.
• No rain back location available.
• Fire wood is not included in rental.

The Kitchen Garden is located in the outdoor Gardens at The Leaf. Please explore the gardens. 

2024 Rental Rate: $2,600 + GST for 2 hours

Capacity: 200

Kitchen Garden Rental Terms:

• In-house catering available at an additional cost. No outside catering permitted.
• Pizza oven can be scheduled for use with in-house catering.
• The consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is not permitted.
• Evening bookings (after 4:30 pm), may require a minimum of one security personnel to be arranged.
• No rain back-up location available.

The Johnston Family Seasonal Garden is located in the outdoor Gardens at The Leaf. Please explore the gardens. 

2024 Rental Rate: $1,100 + GST for 2 hours

Capacity: 150

Seasonal Garden Rental Terms:

• In-house Catering available at an additional cost. No outside catering permitted.
• The consumption of alcohol and/or drugs is not permitted.
• Evening bookings (after 4:30 pm), may require a minimum of one security personnel to be arranged.
• Each group is responsible for obtaining their own Noise Permit through the City of Winnipeg Police Service.
• No rain back location available.

The Grove is located on the east side of the outdoor Gardens at The Leaf. Please explore the gardens.

Capacity: 250+

The Grove Rental Terms:

• Field set up with tents/bouncy castles over 900 square feet require a special events permit from the City of Winnipeg.
• Groups over 200 will require additional insurance.
• Evening bookings (after 4:30 pm), may require a minimum of one security personnel to be arranged.
• Each group is responsible for obtaining their own noise permit through the City of Winnipeg Police Service.
• No rain back-up location available.

The Seasonal Event Tent is a 40ft x 60ft tent located beside the Pavilion Parking Lot on a gravel pad.

2024 Rental Rate: $650 for up to 6 hours

Capacity: 200

The Seasonal Event Tent is recommended for smaller community events or walks/runs that use the roadways or parking lots as their start and end lines. Not available for private rentals such as weddings, corporate staff events, etc.

The Seasonal Event Tent Terms:

• Includes 15 picnic tables and four pairs of garbage/recycling bins.
• Porta Potty use available at a nearby locations.
• No rain back-up location available.
• No access to power.
• Additional rental of the Pavilion Parking lot may be required, pending event type, availability, and at the discretion of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy.
