Seasonal Display: Abundance

September 14 - November 19
Babs Asper Display House

Crisp air and amber afternoons; Abundance is a celebration of the beauty of autumn! This new display in the Babs Asper Display House signifies the end of the growing season and presents an opportunity to acknowledge our efforts tending the garden and nurturing the land. Abundance is a celebration of a bountiful harvest; sparking feelings of generosity, warmth, and tenderness. Inspiration for this display is drawn from farmers markets, falling leaves, and the desire to embrace the upcoming season.

Abundance will feature autumnal elements that will awaken the pumpkin spice fanatic in all of us.

The Oak Allee is a collection of oaks that have been thoughtfully selected and carefully removed from the Park. These oak trees have reached the end of their natural life expectancy and now transport visitors from the Mediterranean biome through a fall forest scene.

At the ‘Abundance Farm’, visitors will see the bounty of the season; boughs of fresh and preserved produce will adorn a farmers’ market set complete with a red and white barn façade.

Surrounded by swaths of swaying tall grass; Japanese maples will provide a stark colour contrast. Yellow, orange, and red Chrysanthemums, Crotons and Jurassic series Begonias will bring warmth and texture to the display.
