Wild Range: Himalayan mountains, found in: Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan

Diet: Sheep, ibex, markhor, and other large mammals. Will also eat small mammals such as hare or pika.

Longevity in the Wild: 10 - 12 years, up to 22 years in captivity.

Size: Height: 55 - 65 cm, Length: 90 – 115 cm, Tail: ca. 100 cm

Weight: 25 kg - 55 kg

Snow leopards live on high plateaus, mountain cliffs and rugged terrain in the Himalayan mountains. Data from radio-collared wild snow leopards show some have a home range size up to a 1000 km2!
