The Leaf - Canada's Diversity Gardens is located in the south-east corner of Assiniboine Park.
The Leaf
The Leaf is an indoor horticultural attraction at Assiniboine Park where visitors will journey through four distinct biomes; the Hartley and Heather Richardson Tropical Biome, Mediterranean Biome, Babs Asper Display House, and the Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden.
Gardens at The Leaf
Outdoors, the Gardens at The Leaf comprises close to 30 acres of gardens and greenspace. There are six gardens to explore; the Indigenous Peoples Garden, Kitchen Garden, Sensory Garden, Performance Garden, Seasonal Garden, and The Grove.
Location
The Leaf and the outdoor Gardens at The Leaf are located between Cordyon Ave. and Park Blvd. in the south-east corner of Assiniboine Park. The Leaf and the gardens are located at 145 The Leaf Way. Click here for Google Maps directions.
Parking
A parking lot is located west of The Leaf and is accessible from Locomotive Drive. The Leaf and the outdoor gardens are located a short walk from this parking lot. Additional parking lots are located in front of The Pavilion, which can be accessed from Conservatory Drive and Pavilion Crescent, or at the head of the Terry Fox Fitness Trail, which can be accessed from Conservatory Drive.
Accessible parking spots are located in The Leaf's parking lot and front of the entrance to The Leaf. A drop-off loop is located in front of the entrance to The Leaf.
Nine electric vehicle parking spots are located in The Leaf parking lot.
Bike racks are located in front of The Leaf.
Pathways
Pathways inside The Leaf are wheelchair accessible. Inside The Leaf, a pedestrian thoroughfare connects two outdoor garden pathways and can be accessed free of charge without entering the biomes. A coffee bar is located along this indoor pathway.
Primary outdoor pathways at the Gardens at The Leaf are made of paving stones and compact gravel. There are some mulch pathways within the gardens.
Wheelchairs
A limited number of wheelchairs are available for use during your visit to The Leaf. Please note wheelchairs are for indoor use only.
DOMO Trolley
The Domo Trolley makes a stop near the Gardens at The Leaf. The trolley operates on weekends and holidays from July - October. Click here to learn more about the Domo Trolley.
