Canadian Signature Experience Tour

Go behind the scenes in Journey to Churchill

This designated Canadian Signature Experience tour is a unique opportunity to get more out of your Zoo visit and discover the Journey to Churchill exhibit in a whole new way! Tour this award-winning exhibit with one of our experienced and knowledgeable guides, meet with a member of the animal care team, and chat with a member of the conservation team at the Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre. This immersive experience offers travellers a convenient and comfortable opportunity to discover the wildlife, geography and culture of Manitoba's majestic north and visit one of Winnipeg's must-see attractions. Read a full tour description.

Prepare to connect with the Churchill landscape as we tour our Journey to Churchill exhibit in search of polar bears and other tundra animals. Your visit will take you through our Gateway to the Arctic building where we will learn about how the climate is changing around Churchill and then go in search of action steps that we can use here at home to help Manitoba bears.

Take a trip on the wild side as we discover what’s new at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. The tour will take you to visit some of your favourite animals and a few Zoo highlights with the time provided.

Biome Tour

The Leaf is an iconic experience like no other in Canada. Find yourself immersed in a vibrant display surrounded by colour, texture, and fragrance as you learn about the exotic plants and their stories on this guided tour. The general biome tour will travel through four distinct biomes; the Hartley and Heather Richardson Tropical Biome, Mediterranean Biome, Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden, and the seasonally changed Babs Asper Display House.

Sustainability and Architecture Tour

The design process for The Leaf kept sustainability front of mind and uses many features unlike any other in Canada. Travel through The Leaf’s biomes and discover some of the architectural features that make the building so visually stunning, and learn about the many sustainable building options that highlight Assiniboine Park’s commitment to the environment.

Gardens at The Leaf Tour

Join us for a guided tour that will captivate your senses and bring you closer to nature. The six outdoor gardens at The Leaf all tell a story of how people connect with plants and how they bring meaning to our lives. Let us take you on a relaxed stroll through the gardens where you will learn the stories of each garden; the Indigenous Peoples Garden, Kitchen Garden, Sensory Garden, Performance Garden, Johnston Family Seasonal Garden, and The Grove.

 - Indigenous Peoples Garden Walk

Indigenous Peoples Garden Walk

The Indigenous Peoples Garden is a place for teaching, celebration, ceremony, and quiet reflection. This tour is appropriate for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups. It can serve as an introduction to the sacred connection between people and the land, and how the relationship to plants as medicine is a pillar of Indigenous spirituality and worldviews. This tour can also help further explore your own connection to the land and the gifts that plants have to offer as medicine for all parts of ourselves; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Length: 60 minutes
Cost: $27.50 + GST per person (does not include biome admission)

Leo Mol Sculpture Garden Tour

Leo Mol Sculpture Garden Tour

Stroll through the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, a serene garden brimming with flowers and tranquil pools that features the magnificent works of internationally recognized Ukrainian-Canadian master sculptor Dr. Leo Mol. This tour is offered seasonally.

English Garden Tour - manicured English garden and pathways

English Garden Tour

Wander the paths of the English Garden and learn about its beautiful annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs. Take in the garden's most notable statues including The Boy with the Boot and The Queen Victoria Monument. This tour is offered seasonally.

Pavilion Gallery Tour - Assiniboine park pavilion

Pavilion Gallery Tour

The Pavilion at Assiniboine Park has been the centrepiece of the Park for over 100 years. This tour will highlight the history of The Pavilion and explore the art and artists showcased in our Ivan Eyre, John P. Crabb, Pooh, and Community galleries.
