Fro-ZOO-n Winter Camp | January 2 & 3

For those who are looking for some more fun after the holidays, we invite you to join us at the Zoo!  We will be enjoying our surrounding winter wonderland as we explore nature, learn about animals, play games, and make new friends for a brand new year. We are always mindful of the weather, so please come dressed appropriately and prepared for cozy indoor fun and snowy outdoor winter shenanigans!

Each day (weather permitting), we will try to make time for campers to choose between skating and sledding. If a camper would like to skate, they need to bring their own skates and a helmet. We have sleds available on site for campers to share.

This camp is open to children enrolled in Gr. 1-6 for the 2019/2020 school year. Drop-off and pick-up are conveniently located at the Zoo’s Education Centre.

Day 1: Thursday, January 2, 2020: Tropical Getaway
This day is for those who are looking for a tropical getaway! We will take in the tropical wonders of Toucan Ridge and the Kinsmen Discovery Centre as we search for our feathered and furry friends. Our adventures will also inspire some jungle art and forest habitat creations. It will be a vacation to remember.

Day 2: Friday, January 3, 2020: Snow Play
This day is all celebrating how cool winter is. We will take a Journey to Churchill to visit our tundra friends, and see what the animals need to survive the cold. Our explorations will take us around the Zoo as we examine how animals are suited for their environment, and how we can make the best out of a day playing in the snow.

On Monday, December 30, 2019, we will contact participants if any of the camp dates need to be cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
