Date: Saturday, May 2
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (come and go!)
Location: Meet at the Nature Playground Parking Lot
Volunteers will work with the Park’s Forestry and Education teams to remove buckthorn, learn more about preventing the release of invasive species at home, and how to safeguard native plants.
Help restore a piece of Assiniboine Park habitat to buckthorn-free biodiverse beauty!
- Children must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended for ages six and up.
- Gloves and simple tools will be provided. Please wear sensible footwear with closed toes.
- Enjoy free snacks after pulling some buckthorn!
Advance registration is not required. Stop by our check-in station located at the Nature Playground parking lot to sign up and get started.
This Biodiversity Blitz is supported by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Party for the Planet program.
