Muskox

Muskoxen live in mixed-sex and age herds or small male bachelor herds. When threatened, muskoxen circle and arrange themselves with their young in the middle and the adults' sharp horns facing outward.

Taxonomic name:  Ovibos moschatus

Type:  Mammal

Conservation Status:  Least Concern

Wild Range:  Grasslands in Alaska, Northern Canada and Greenland

Diet:  Sedges, grasses and shrubs

Longevity: 12-20 years

Size: 1.5 meters

Weight: 300 kg
