Wild Range: Primarily found in wetlands across central and western North America, and in some areas of Central America and the Caribbean.

Diet: Primarily fish, crustaceans, and amphibians.

Longevity in the Wild: 10-25 years. Longest recorded lifespan in the wild was 26.4 years!

Size: Length: 127-165 cm; Wingspan: 244-290 cm; Bill length: 26.5-36.5 cm

Weight: 4.5 - 7.7 kg

An American White Pelican can hold up to 11 litres (3 gallons) of water in its spacious bill!
