This summer, Assiniboine Park Conservancy celebrated our first ever at-home Garden Party event and Online Experience Auction. The annual Garden Party fundraiser event is typically hosted in the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, where guests enjoy live entertainment, the fabulous experience auction, and incredible food and beverages, all while surrounded by gorgeous floral displays. This year, we wanted to capture the essence of the Garden Party for our guests in their own homes.
2020 Garden Party guests were treated to an at-home celebration, through an extravagant gift box delivered to their door. The gift box included a wide variety of made in Manitoba gifts including a Coal and Canary Candle, floral white chocolate bark from Flour and Flower, homemade antipasto made by APC Executive Chef, Heiko Duehrsen, a ticket to win a piece of jewelry donated by Simon Imports, Ltd., and much more.
In addition to the at-home Garden Party experience, we also launched an online experience auction which gave the public the opportunity to bid on once in a lifetime Zoo experiences, private events at the Park, culinary experiences, adorable artwork created by our Zoo animals, and more.
During this uncertain time, we were thrilled that both the Garden Party and the Online Experience Auction were incredible successes! All funds raised through Garden Party ticket sales, sponsor support, and the online auction will support the gardens at Assiniboine Park and the Canada’s Diversity Gardens project.
