The Leaf After Dark 18+ (May 14, May 28)
Picture it: Strolling through The Leaf with your partner on date night (because Wednesdays are the only day that works for time together), with a drink or snack in your hand, taking in the beautiful blooms and foliage. Plus, there's relaxing music playing in the background that's setting you up for a lovely time - you can have that all at The Leaf After Dark!
Wine, beer, and a few menu items from either Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar or Assiniboine Park Conservancy's banquet department will be available to order inside the biomes as you take your time to explore. Plus, you can enjoy the musical stylings of our upcoming local talent:
May 14: Chickadee, is a jazz quintet led by bassist Fred Warner. Drawing on both jazz and folk traditions and inspired by the beauty and tenacity of nature, Chickadee aims to be eclectic, experimental, and exciting. Just like its namesake, Chickadee is always active and always looking for the 'next thing'; one moment funky, the next introspective, and the next jubilant. Along with Warner, Chickadee comprises musicians Paul Klassen, Nolan Gottfied, Ava Persaud, and Tirian Plett.
May 28: Nathaniel Muir and Adam Yarish are collaborating musicians and lifelong Winnipeggers. They are both members of the band The Love Letters, as well as other projects in the local rock scene. In addition to music, Yarish and Muir are also active in the Winnipeg Film and Theatre communities of Winnipeg.
The Leaf Unplugged 18+ (May 7, May 21)
Maybe your life feels a little too much right now, but Wednesdays are your only time to pause everything, even for a little while. Come into The Leaf's indoor biomes, sit, and relax; you've made it to The Leaf Unplugged.
This event is geared toward those who want to reconnect with nature and break from the busy world outside. While the weather is warming up outside, you can trust that The Leaf's indoor biomes are always balmy. We keep talking in whispers so you can be sure you'll have a truly peaceful experience.
