Celebrating 10 Years of Volunteering

In 2021, Assiniboine Park Conservancy celebrated the 10th anniversary of its volunteer program. Looking back over the years, it is incredible how the volunteer team has grown alongside the exciting advancements that have taken place in the Park and Zoo. 

Spring has Sprung in the Greenhouse

Here in Winnipeg, we may be having one of the coldest and snowiest winters on record, but the greenhouse at Assiniboine Park is a bright and cheery oasis bursting with colour!

Plant Profile: Scots Pine

One of the most distinguishing features of the Scots pine is its young bark which is bright orange-red with paper-like flakes.

Creature Feature: Snowy Owl

Snowy owls disperse remarkably far. Young from a single nest on Victoria Island dispersed to Hudson Bay, southeastern Ontario and the eastern Russian Coast.
