Experience and Accessibility

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

All formal pathways within Zoo are relatively flat. Primary pathways in the Zoo are made of asphalt or paving stones. Mats will be laid across some pathways to cover electrical wires which will cause some raised sections. Our grounds team will make every effort to ensure pathways are clear of snow and ice before the start of the event each night.

The event tent on the West side of the Zoo uses mulch flooring, and the Dunker Troll trail uses mulch/gravel pathway.

Accessible washrooms are located at the Zoo entrance and Tundra Grill.

Midway rides and the ghosts ball unfortunately cannot accommodate guests using wheelchairs.

Are there areas with low lighting or flashing lights?

Given the spooky themes of the event, some pathways may use dim or dark lighting. Darker areas include the the Dunker Troll trail, the space around our fire dancers, and the ghosts ball.

There are flashing lights in the graveyard, however, there are no strobe lights at Boo at the Zoo.

Can I wear a costume?

Yes, costumes are welcomed and encouraged for guests of all ages! Please leave the prop weapons, like swords, at home.

How scary is Boo at the Zoo?

Boo at the Zoo has been designed as a family-friendly event that is welcoming to all ages. You will encounter some spooky elements, as it is a Halloween-themed event, but you will not experience any jump scares.

Is there an extra cost for the rides and games?

No. Midway rides and carnival games are included with admission.
