Can I purchase tickets at the gate?

You are welcome to purchase tickets in advance at the Zoo entrance during daytime hours. We ask that you avoid planning to purchase tickets at the gate on the night of the event. Tickets are limited by time slot so you risk that tickets may not be available when you arrive in the evening.

Experience and Accessibility

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

All formal pathways within Zoo are relatively flat. Primary pathways in the Zoo are made of asphalt or paving stones. There are pathways made of mulch at the McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre (Devil's Cross Roads), and the Enchanted Forest trail. Mats will be laid across some pathways to cover electrical wires which will cause some raised sections. Our grounds team will make every effort to ensure pathways are clear of snow and ice before the start of the event each night.

Both event tents (at the Devil's Cross Roads and Cirque-tacular) use mulch flooring.

Accessible washrooms are located at the Zoo entrance and Tundra Grill.

Midway rides unfortunately cannot accommodate guests using wheelchairs.

Are there areas with low lighting or flashing lights?

Given the spooky themes of the event, some pathways may use dim or dark lighting. Darker areas include the Graveyard, near Toucan Ridge, and at the end of the event loop past Tundra Grill.

Some areas throughout the event use flashing and/or laser lighting effects. However, there are no strobe lights at Boo at the Zoo.

Can I wear a costume?

Yes, costumes are welcomed and encouraged for guests of all ages! Please leave the prop weapons, like swords, at home.

How scary is Boo at the Zoo?

Boo at the Zoo has been designed as a family-friendly event that is welcoming to all ages. You will encounter some spooky elements, as it is a Halloween-themed event, but you will not experience any jump scares.

Is there an extra cost for the rides and games?

No. Midway rides and carnival games are included with admission.

Will food and drinks be available for purchase?

Yes! Food and beverage stations will be open throughout the event. Click here for a full list of restaurants, concessions, and bars. The entire Zoo is liscenced so you are welcome to journey through the event with the beverages you purchase at our bars in tow.

Can I see animals during Boo at the Zoo?

Since Boo at the Zoo takes place at night, most animals are in bed or quite difficult to see. In addition, the entire Zoo is not accessible during the event. Although you may be able to spot some animals during your visit, we'd recommend coming back to the Zoo during daytime hours to see animals.

Are pets allowed at Boo at the Zoo?

No. Pets of any kind are not permitted in the Zoo.

Service animals are permitted. For the health and safety of all animals (including those in our care) the service animal's vaccination papers must be presented upon arrival at the Zoo.

Is smoking or vaping permitted in the Zoo?

No. The Zoo is a smoke-free facility. Vaping is also not permitted.
