Fun Fact: Despite their formidable-looking tusks, Siberian musk deer are herbivores! Male musk deer have tusks instead of antlers, which they use to attract females and compete with other males during the breeding season.

Conservation Story: Male Siberian musk deer produce musk, a strong-smelling compound that is used in traditional medicines and perfumes. The illegal and unsustainable harvest of the musk-producing organ has resulted in population declines for this species.
