I am Brennon Harper and I’m from Garden Hill First Nation, located in Northern Manitoba, on the shores of Island Lake.

One experience that stood out to me was Knowledge Keeper Audrey Logan making bug repellent out of sweet grass and coconut oil.

My favourite place at the park was definitely in the forest because it reminded me so much of my reserve, and made me feel at home.

The teaching that Elder Mary Courchene shared was to walk softly on the ground to respect the land. The time I felt connected to the land is when I was in the Assiniboine Forest and I felt at home for a sec.

What I want people to know about me is that I'm humble and generous. What I do for fun is hang out with my friends and have a good time with them. We joke around, that's what makes us laugh. What I’m most proud of is that I graduated from high school. What is next for me is that I'm going to Red River college this fall.
