Red Panda Weekend

In celebration of International Red Panda Day, we’re hosting a whole weekend of fun on September 20 and 21!
Learn about these incredible animals through games, discovery tables, and special Zoo Chats. Make a small donation and pick up an awesome Red Panda Souvenir. All funds raised will support the Red Panda Network.
Activities take place from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at the large event tent on the West side of the Zoo.
Face Painting
We’re thrilled to have artists from Mama K Paints on site for Red Panda Weekend. Have your face painted with a beautiful design – fun for kids of all ages!
Red Panda Souvenir Station
Make a small donation to the Red Panda Network and pick up a cute button, a custom-made greeting card, a tiny tail, or a unique piece of animal artwork. They make a great souvenir of a fun day at the Zoo!
Red Panda Adaptation Station
Do you know where red pandas live, what they eat, or what their poop looks like? Learn fascinating details about these amazing animals at our adaptation station.
Red Panda Ranger Challenge
Can you complete all the tasks to become a Red Panda Ranger? Pick up a passport and get a stamp for each activity:
- The Balance Beam: Red Pandas need excellent balance to navigate the tall tree branches in their home habitats. Can you be like a red panda and complete our balance beam course?
- Plinko: Play our special edition of Plinko and learn how you can help protect the environment and animals like the red panda.
- Feed the Red Panda Game: Answer questions about red pandas and earn a chance to toss a food-themed bean bag into the mouth of a cartoon red panda.
- Red Panda Scavenger Hunt: Red pandas are excellent at hide and seek. Can you find all the ones hiding in Toucan Ridge?
- Recycling Challenge – Hosted by Recycle Everywhere: Recycling is something we can all do to help protect fragile habitats around the world. Take our challenge and learn how you can be a great recycler.
